Bachmann wants to take non existent US Embassy staff out of Iran

stfubachmann:

In light of the British Foreign Ministry pulling all U.K. nationals out of the British embassy in Tehran after students stormed the building in protest, GOP presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann told a crowd in Waverly, Iowa, today that she would close the U.S. embassy in Iran.

One small, tiny note: The U.S. hasn’t had an embassy in Tehran since 1980. Following the Iranian Hostage Crisis, where 52 Americans were held for 444 days, the United States cut all diplomatic ties.

According to reports, Bachmann applauded the U.K.’s move, adding, “That’s exactly what I would do [if I were  president]. We wouldn’t have an embassy in Iran. I wouldn’t allow that to be there.”

Recall just a few weeks ago when Bachmann bragged to Fox News that she had a squeaky clean record.

“I haven’t had a gaffe or something that I’ve done that has caused me to fall in the polls,” she said.

I know it’s been a while since our last post, but damn, she’s still just as stupid.

It’s over.

Summary:

  • Rick Perry had a meltdown. His train of thought derailed multiple times and he was slurring his words slightly.
  • Mitt Romney’s hair was jauntily tousled and he probably gets a boost from this.
  • Herman Cain proved he’s not a misogynist by referring to Rep. Nancy Pelosi as “Princess Nancy” and gave Jim Cramer a stroke by referencing 9-9-9 when Cramer said specifically not to at all.
  • Michele Bachmann insulted poor people by saying they could pay taxes by buying “two less Happy Meals.”
  • Ron Paul suggested students pay for college like they pay for cell phones and that getting rid of student loans will make the price go down. He alternated between Grandpa Simpson and soothsayer.
  • Rick Santorum was lost because he couldn’t talk about abortions and gay people killing America.
  • Newt Gingrich got his ass handed to him by moderators for claiming “media is not reporting accurately how the economy works.” At a CNBC debate.
  • Jon Huntsman was the grown-up in the room, reminding everyone Americans watching this debate are hurting. They’re losing their jobs, their houses, and there’s no simple solution. He had ideas versus talking points. So he’s going to sink further than 1% in the polls.

Flawless summary.

Like I said last time, Comedy Central seriously needs to hold one of these debates. Moderated by John Stewart and Stephen Colbert. They are pure comedy.

Michele Bachmann Takes Issue With Radical Environmentalists

stfubachmann:

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann claims the U.S. has more energy resources than any other country but isn’t exploiting them because of radical environmentalists.

Bachmann says with shale oil, natural gas and coal, the United States shouldn’t be “begging” others for oil and energy supplies.

She said “we are the king daddy dogs when it comes to energy.” But she says environmentalists are preventing resources from being tapped.

As president, Bachmann said she would unlock those resources and eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency.

“The radical environmentalists have demanded that we lock up all our energy resources,” she added. “President Bachmann will take that key out of the door. I will unlock it.”

The crowd at the upscale retirement community cheered wildly.

Apparently Bachmann either doesn’t know or, more likely, doesn’t care that shale drilling releases massive amounts of toxic chemicals into groundwater, aquifers, and any other source of water the shale comes into contact with. The water turns into poison; drinking it will literally kill you.

This is something I care about a great deal, largely because one of the biggest shale oil reserves in the country is right under the Appalachian Basin, which most of Pennsylvania is inside of. Parts of up-state Pennsylvania literally need truckloads of bottled water just to be habitable, because any plumbing is going to give you water so polluted with shale toxins it will kill you. There was a conference in Pittsburgh last year between oil company executives, aided by Karl Rove, and Tom Corbett, Pennsylvania’s current governor, about allowing drilling in the Marcellus Shale around Pittsburgh. This is where I live, I call Pittsburgh my home, and if Bachmann and the oil companies had their way it would be completely uninhabitable.

Fossil fuels are a crutch keeping the US weak, indebted, and dependent. Anyone who believes otherwise is delusional. Destroying the environment in an effort to get at more as opposed to making alternative power sources more available and better funded is just further evidence of that fact.

Here are some famous quotes from Michele Bachmann:
1. “I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another… Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.” –  Bachmann, on the 1976 Swine Flu outbreak that happened when Gerald Ford, a Republican, was president. April 2009
2. “There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.” October, 2006
3. “Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn’t even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.” April, 2009
4. “If we took away the minimum wage – if conceivably it was gone – we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.” January, 2005
5. “This is not funny. It’s a very sad life. It’s part of Satan, I think, to say that this is gay.” Bachmann on homosexuality. May. 2004
6. “Does that mean that someone’s 13-year-old daughter could walk into a sex clinic, have a pregnancy test done, be taken away to the local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, have their abortion, be back and go home on the school bus? That night, mom and dad are never the wiser.” – Bachmann on health care reform’s potential to dupe parents, October 2009.

I realize we’ve already posted some of these before, but still, never forget she is this dumb, please.

The fact that no one in government or media ever seems to call her on the insane and completely inaccurate things she says simply enrages me.

"There’s a fear that the United States is in an unstoppable decline. They see the rise of China, the rise of India, the rise of the Soviet Union."

Michele Bachmann on Jay Sekulow Live!

August 18, 2011

Please note, that date was the twentieth anniversary of the 1991 Soviet coup d’etat attempt by eight high ranking members of the government of the USSR which is widely considered to be the catalyst for the demise of the Communist Party and the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

This country or empire, depending on your perspective, hasn’t existed for twenty years. Anyone who votes for this woman is obviously a lunatic.

Michele Bachmann Is Not a Doctor

stfubachmann:

On the campaign trail in Iowa, Rep. Michele Bachmann’s response to the argument that she lacks the experience to run for president has been to turn the argument on its head. The Minnesota congresswoman rattles off her resume: She was a federal tax litigation attorney; she and her husband started “a successful small company”; she fought the establishment in the state Legislature and Congress.

But there was one résumé item that was missing: a Ph.D. Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when Bachmann traveled the state as an education activist, she went by “Dr. Michele Bachmann,” even though she had never obtained nor sought the advanced degree that’s a prerequisite for the title. And one more thing: Lest you think she doesn’t have the brains to do battle with Obama, she rattles off her degrees. “I’m not only a lawyer, I have a postdoctorate degree in federal tax law from William and Mary,” she told Fox News’ Chris Wallace in June. “I work in serious scholarship.”

and

This isn’t the only instance of Bachmann exaggerating her résumé. She continues to call herself a “tax attorney” or “tax litigation attorney” even though, according to the state of Minnesota, she is not currently authorized to practice law in the state. In an effort to prove her bipartisan appeal, she has stated that Minnesota Democrats squeezed her out of her old Senate district and put her in a new, liberal-leaning one—but the districts were drawn up by the courts, and her new district actually leaned red.

On occasion, she has also stretched the truth about her foster children (she had 23) to make a political point. In a 2008 interview with Politico, she noted that she was feeling the squeeze from high gas prices because she has such a large family. “Energy will be the big focus right now,” she said. “Every weekend now when I go home, I will go to the grocery store, I’ll buy food for the family. We have five kids and 23 foster kids that we raise. So I go to the grocery store and buy a lot of food.” The catch? She didn’t have any foster children in 2008; her permit to take in foster children had expired in 2000 and she had taken in her last child, a teenage girl, in 1998.

How the hell does this woman get away with blatantly lying about, well, everything?!

Bachmann Campaign Organizer Tied to "Kill the Gays" Backer in Uganda

stfubachmann:

A film about Waldron’s experience is apparently in the works, titled The Ultimate Price: The Peter E. Waldron Story. While Waldron was in Uganda from 2002 to 2006, the Republican political activist was reportedly arrested with a small weapons cache. The details are murky but he spent more than a month in prison.

The surfacing of this name, tied to Uganda, got people wondering. And it turns out Waldron was spotted by happenstance while visiting the church of staunchly antigay, and dangerous, pastor Martin Ssempa. A journalist with The New Republic, Andrew Rice, bumped into them together while researching an article on evangelicals in the country.

Ssempa is well known for inflaming violence against gay people in Uganda, even screening gay porn to incite backlash. While no one is reporting that Waldron actively helped push for the “Kill the Gays” bill that is even now still being considered by the country’s parliament, Rice says that Waldron regaled Ssempa’s congregation with stories and seemed like a minor celebrity. Waldron spoke about his time in the military (which Waldron strongly implied was CIA related), his visit to the White House, and he bragged about being cozy with the Ugandan president.

So yeah guys, this is SERIOUS news. Spread it around!

Bachmann chooses to associate with a bigoted, homophobic, weapon-smuggling terrorist and even makes him part of her campaign. And apparently no one sees anything wrong with this. What the fuck is wrong with people?!

One really good reason why Michele Bachmann should not run for President

joystik-harlot:

spacemunkie:

  •
    • BACHMANN WARNED ‘THE LION KING’ WAS GAY PROPAGANDA: At the November 2004 EdWatch National Education Conference, Bachmannsaid the “normalization” of homosexuality would lead to “desensitization”: “Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders, is take a picture of ‘The Lion King’ for instance, and a teacher might say, ‘Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?’ The message is: I’m better at what I do, because I’m gay.”
    • BACHMANN CLAIMED ABOLISHING THE MINIMUM WAGE WOULD CREATE JOBS: While testifying in front of the Minnesota Senate in 2005, Bachmann said, “Literally, if we took away the minimum wage — if conceivably it was gone — we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.” This isn’t remotely true. Even simply reducing the minimum wage would, as Paul Krugman noted, “at best do nothing for employment; more likely it would actually be contractionary.”
    • BACHMANN CLAIMED THAT SCIENTISTS ARE SUPPORTERS OF INTELLIGENT DESIGN: During a 2006 debate, Bachmann said, “There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.” This was, and is, not true.
    • BACHMANN CLAIMED TERRI SCHIAVO WAS ‘HEALTHY’: Not long after Terri Schiavo died, Bachmann said she would have voted for the Palm Sunday Compromise because Schiavo “was healthy. She had brain damage — there was brain damage, there was no question. But from a health point of view, she was not terminally ill.” An autopsy found that Schiavo had suffered irreversible brain damage and her brain, said the medical examiner, was “profoundly atrophied.”
    • BACHMANN LIKENED VISITING IRAQ TO VISITING MALL OF AMERICA: In 2007, Bachmann returned from a junket to Iraq and told her colleagues, “[T]here’s a commonality with the Mall of America, in that it’s on that proportion. There’s marble everywhere. The other thing I remarked about was there is water everywhere.” As ThinkProgress documented at the time, the comparison was preposterous.
    • BACHMANN SUGGESTED GAY SINGER SHOULD REPENT AFTER GETTING CANCER: Bachmann saw Melissa Etheridge’s cancer as a teachable moment: “Unfortunately she is now suffering from breast cancer, so keep her in your prayers,” she said in November 2004. “This may be an opportunity for her now to be open to some spiritual things, now that she is suffering with that physical disease. She is a lesbian.”
  • You get the idea, this woman is either a pathological liar, or she has a fucked up perspective on the world. How could this person be stable enough to govern us?

    Source

KJHSKFHSDKFU WHY IS SHE ALIVE?

I really don’t ever seriously condone violence against others, but would someone PLEASE just beat the living shit out of her?

Fuck that, I’m going to go seduce Michelle Bachmann, turn her into a lesbian, and then hit her in the head with a vibrator, hard enough for her to get brain damage, while watching the Lion King.

I cannot express how much I want to giver her a swift kick to the teeth.

Folks, it’s official…

stfubachmann:

Michele Bachmann has won the Ames Straw Poll, and the vast majority of sources are saying she did it in landslide fashion. The time to starting worrying is now, if reasonable people don’t stand in her way, who knows what can happen.

An opinion I try not to express often, regardless of who it’s about, but will someone please just stab her?

Oh, and make sure she dies, we don’t need another Ronald Reagan.

Bob Schieffer (CBS) called out Bachmann for her lies on “Face The Nation.” She responds by blaming Obama.

SCHIEFFER: I want to ask you about something else. A lot of your critics say you have been very fast and loose with the truth. You know, the po— PolitiFact, which is a website that won a Pulitzer, did an analysis of twenty-three statements that you made recently. Of these twenty-three, only one they said was completely true. Seven they call pants on fire kind of falsehoods. Four were barely true and two were half truths. How do you answer that criticism? Because here’s one of them, you know, you said on the record there had been only one offshore oil drilling permit during the Obama administration and, in fact at that time they had been two hundred and seventy. How do you explain that?
BACHMANN: Well, you know, I think that what is clear more than anything is the fact that President Obama does — has not been issuing the permits, that he should have been issuing on offshore drilling that’s—
SCHIEFFER: Well, it’s more than three hundred now.
BACHMANN: Well —
SCHIEFFER: At— at that time there had been two hundred and something. And you said there had been only one.
BACHMANN: But as far as drilling goes, we hadn’t been drilling what we need to— that’s why we just this week—
SCHIEFFER (overlapping): But that’s different, isn’t it?

Oh look! People are finally starting to realize how absolutely insane listening to this woman is!

Bachmann calls for ‘immediate resignation’ of Geithner

stfubachmann:

“That’s right — nice decision by S&P to downgrade our credit rating to a AA+,” Bachmann said. “It’s historically significant. It is a serious event for the United States because our country has had a AAA rating since 1917. That rating has never been downgraded. It has endured the Great Depression, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and terrorist attacks on 9/11.

Michele, you realize WWII ended the depression, right? You also realize the depression had no effect on the governments ability to pay their bills, right? Oh wait, that’s right, you can’t read, I wouldn’t expect you to know simple history.

Also, btw, 9/11 has no place in this argument, just thought you should know.

This woman … I can’t even … can someone please punch her in the face?
