By now, you’ve probably heard about the sneaky attempt by anti-choice lawmakers at the NCGA to pass last minute, omnibus bill that would effectively eliminate access to safe and legal abortion care in NC. Join us TOMORROW at 9am at the NCGA to let them know we are watching!

What’s even worse is that this is in the form of an amendment attached to a bill targeting Sharia law.
So Republican fascists in North Carolina are not only trying to undermine reproductive rights and health, but they’re doing it to make an Islamophobic act more feasible to the only slightly less fringe-right dicks in the legislature.

"The TLC reality show All-American Muslim, which follows five families in Dearborn, Michigan, has a lot of points to make about the lives of average Muslim citizens in America, among them the lingering discrimination they face after 9/11… Last week, hardware big-box store Lowe’s pulled its advertising from All-American Muslim under pressure–and thereby proved the show’s point. Lowe’s pulled its ads following a protest campaign from the Florida Family Association, which objects to the show, in essence, because it portrays Muslims too positively. That is, it argues the show is “propaganda” because it portrays peaceful, ordinary Muslims without mentioning horrible things that other Muslims have done."

All-American Muslim Meets an Un-American Advertising Pullout | Entertainment | TIME.com

The Florida Family Association criticizes the show because it “hides the Islamic agenda’s clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values.” The organization’s mission statement is to “Educate people on what they can do to defend, protect and promote traditional, biblical values.” This is an organization that is clearly promoting hate and persecution of another group because of their religious affiliation. It is appalling that so many companies—not just Lowe—have pulled out their support for the show.

You can find a full list of companies who pulled their ads from All-American Muslim here. Appalling.

This whole debacle is just so disgusting. It’s not just that it’s all incredibly Islamaphobic, it’s that when someone tries to do something to fight Islamaphobia, the Islamaphobes have a problem with it. It’s as though showing them that their hatred is baseless and unfounded is an assault on their life.

Oww ow. Look at all the liberals getting their panties in a bunch because of my pro-American comments (;

Bring it, bitches.
You’re not going to win against a kid on no sleep who has done nothing but watch 9/11 specials this week.
Not to mention the things from World Affairs these last two days.
LEGIT DEPRESSED every day in lunch.

Simple explanations: I am PROUD to be an American. I love this country and its people more than anything else. My country is first. If that means I’m offending some lesser-patriots in the process, so be it. I have more important things to worry about than some silly bitches on Tumblr. Like…um…the terrorist threats…
AND HOMEWORK.

English essay.
Environmental current event (I have no idea where to look)
Pre-Calc homework…good thing I’m dropping that.

PAUSE THE PROTESTS SO I CAN FINISH MY PAPER THEN I’LL BE GLAD TO VERBALLY KICK ALL YOUR ASSES.

Seriously though…this essay…

Pro-American comments??? Racism is NOT an American value! For fuck’s sake! Nobody is a “lesser patriot” because they aren’t a bigot. Also, this is not a competition, and if it was, you wouldn’t “win” because you’ve watched a bunch of grief porn and paid attention in class. Ohhh, you were in a high school social studies class the last two days, you must know more than everyone else about why hating Muslims is ok!

I sincerely welcome you to try and “verbally kick my ass” although that’s going to be tough since we’re communicating over a non-verbal medium BUT I will maintain an open mind.

These are the kind of people who make me constantly angry.

Bachmann Friend Bradlee Dean Makes Incredibly Homophobic Statements, Sues Rachel Maddow for Speaking the Truth

stfubachmann:

In my previous story on Michele Bachmann, one thing I neglected to mention is perhaps one of the weirdest bits about her: her connection to “heavy metal ministry” You Can Run But You Can’t Hide International, run by Bradlee Dean, who plays drums for a Christian metal band known as Junkyard Prophet and has a conservative political radio show in the Twin Cities called “Sons of Liberty.” Bachmann has helped out You Can Run But You Can’t Hide (YCRBYCH) as a keynote speaker at their 2009 fundraiser, and the group has also been supported by former Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer (who is the reason why gays are boycotting Target and Best Buy). While it’s no surprise that Bachmann would throw money at conservative Christian ministries, she may want to sever her link with this one before the presidential race heats up. Because if you think Bachmann is crazy and full of hate, you should get to know Bradlee Dean.

Bradlee Dean is on record of saying that President Obama is no different from Osama bin Laden, and when asked to make an opening prayer for a session of the Minnesota Legislature, used it as a chance to insinuate that Obama is not a Christian: “I know this is a non-denominational prayer in this Chamber and it’s not about the Baptists and it’s not about the Catholics alone or the Lutherans or the Wesleyans. Or the Presbyterians, the evangelicals or any other denomination but rather the head of the denomination and his name is Jesus. As every president up until 2008 has acknowledged.” It was enough to cause the House to get their regular chaplain to offer a new prayer, and was condemned by both Democrats and Republicans.

But of particular notice is Bradlee Dean’s remarks about gay people. He has claimed, among other things, that gays are responsible for the Holocaust or that gays “on average…molest 117 people before they’re found out.” He also seems to have a poor understanding of the legal status of homosexuality, believing that the 2010 nomination of Sharon Lubinski to U.S. Marshal for Minnesota was illegal because Lubinski is a lesbian. Even stranger, he believes that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim in the U.S. Congress, is trying to “advance Sharia law” through his support for gay equality. Yet perhaps his most troubling comments are these he made in the same show where he accused gays of being molesters:

Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America. This just shows you they themselves are upholding the laws that are even in the Bible of the Judeo-Christian God, but they seem to be more moral than even the American Christians do, because these people are livid about enforcing their laws. They know homosexuality is an abomination…If America won’t enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that.

Not only is Michele a raving lunatic, but so are her friends. Awesome.

I really don’t understand this kind of absolute insanity. Depraved madness on this scale is so far beyond my scope of imagination.

Please tell me I’m not the only one

Who completely tunes political arguments out after the person making them uses the word ‘jihad.’

Bill O'Reilly says the media is calling the Norway bomber Christian because "they don't like Christians" and "want you to believe that fundamentalist Christians are a threat just like crazy jihadists are."

stfuconservatives:

Related: Bill O’Reilly incapable of seeing, hearing irony.

The Norway bomber doesn’t represent 99.9% of Christians, just like the 9/11 bombers don’t represent 99.9% of Muslims. Anders Behring-Breivik is a self-identified Christian.

…I was about to say “Sorry, Bill, but you can’t dispute the facts,” but then I remembered that he’s built an entire media empire around disputing facts.
