The numbers of Latinos who support pro-gay policies and homosexuality has grown steadily and now is on par with the rest of the American population, says a new study released by the National Council of La Raza and research group Social Science Research Solutions (SSRS).
Latinos prove more and more they’re turning into the progressive, open-minded individuals who will help lead this country.

Highly recommend giving the study a read there’s a lot of fascinating information beyond the two-paragraph summary in the article. Not a lot of it is surprising, older generations and frequent church goers are still opposed while younger more secular Latin@s are supportive and representing a broader part of the community. Regardless it’s still always interesting to go deep into the polling.

It’s really easy to be against the rights of people you don’t know.
The less you go to church the less likely you are to think homosexuality is a choice.
But yeah, interesting statistics and it dispels a lot of the media dialogue that casts Hispanic voters as this monolithic hard-right catholic demographic.
